Mónica Tantaleán - Latin America Research Director, Chambers

Mónica joined Chambers as a Research Analyst on the Latin America team. After several promotions in the department, Mónica took over as Latin America Research Director in 2021.

Her previous job experience includes working at law firms in Peru, where she focused on corporate matters and large-scale projects. She also worked as an advisor on project finance at a global organisation in the UK specialising in infrastructure and energy financing.

She graduated in law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and has an LLM in Law and Development from the University of Manchester. Mónica is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Macarena Vargas Losada - Legal Vice President, Codelco

Macarena Vargas Losada is a Chilean lawyer boasting a truly impressive career that spans both the private and public sectors.

On top of many years of experience working in a law firm, she has additionally served as an advisor to the Minister of Finance and later to the Minister of Energy. Macarena has also worked as in-house counsel for companies within both the energy and media sectors.

She is currently the Legal Vice-President of Codelco, a Chilean state-owned company, Codelco is currently a world leader in copper production that is also quickly making its way into the world of lithium.
